In light of the agreement signed with the Gibran National Committee on Tuesday, February 18th, at Gibran Khalil Gibran’s Garden facing the United Nations’ premises at Riad el Solh, MEDCO is paving the way for the future generation to discover and understand Gibran’s profound connection to his roots, which inspired his famous saying, "If Lebanon was not my country, I would have chosen it to be," proudly engraved today on one of our tanks in our Terminal in Dora.
Also, as a tribute to his timeless wisdom and the resilience of the Lebanese people after the devastating events of August 4, 2020, we inscribed another of his powerful sayings on one of our tanks: “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest Souls; the most massive Characters are seared with scars.”
Beyond honoring Gibran’s words, we are committed to ensuring that his legacy continues to inspire future generations. With MEDCO providing transportation coverage to school buses and entry fees to students to experience Gibran’s profound legacy firsthand at the museum in Bcharré. They will be greeted by the glowing beauty of the museum nestled in the breathtaking Lebanese mountains that Gibran so often celebrated in his writings and paintings.
Our dedication also extends to empowering the Gibran National Committee and fueling the museum itself, ensuring efficiency in the management of its energy consumption, and reducing its carbon footprint by engaging in sustainable development. This will also make sure
the museum remains a vibrant destination where Gibran’s everlasting works continue to inspire and resonate.
