MEDCO continues to distribute diesel fuel to shelter centers
MEDCO continued the process of distributing diesel fuel to shelters for displaced people, in implementation of the plan launched by His Excellency the Minister of Energy and Water in the caretaker government, Dr. Walid Fayyad to support the most needy groups in the centers during the winter. The distribution process began in Ajaltoun area - Keserwan District, where the displaced centers received their first share of diesel. The process will be completed to gradually include all Lebanese regions. MEDCO is implementing this process, along with 8 other importing companies operating in the Lebanese market, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Water. It should be noted that MEDCO, as well as the other importing companies participating in this initiative, bear part of the costs, as they receive an amount of $13.6 for every thousand liters of diesel instead of 42 ($17 per ton, plus $25 the cost of distribution). It is expected that this initiative will contribute to achieving a total saving of up to $500,000 for the Lebanese state treasury, amounting to 16 million liters, which will help reduce financial burdens and ensure continuity of support for shelter centers.
