1910
Georges N. Chammas founded Ets. Georges N. Chammas in Lebanon, laying the foundation for one of the country's leading energy companies.
1924
The company expanded its coal business to the petroleum sector, becoming the first in the region to import bulk refined fuel products and pioneering energy distribution in Lebanon.
1992
MEDmart launched as the company's first convenience store concept across its stations network, paving the way for today's Yala Stop, Takéh & Ahwé.
2000s
MEDCO expanded its nationwide station network, modernized infrastructure and strengthened its leadership in automation, fuel distribution and energy innovation solutions across Lebanon.

Mercury Man
Inspired by Mercury, the Roman god of trade and travel, MEDCO’s Mercury Man embodies speed, cleverness, and the ability to connect and cross boundaries. With a winged mask and boots echoing the god’s iconic look, he is energetic, cheerful, and always on the move. His energy is transmissible. He moves people from one station to another in their lives. Born in Beirut in 1960, he is deeply proud of his roots (Ets. GNC 1910), loves Lebanon, its people, culture and education. MEDCO’s Mercury Man thrives on sharing, hosting, lighting streets and energizing the community.
