Lebanon's first electric bus service

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Municipality of Jbeil, the Railway and Public Transport Authority, and UNDP Lebanon launched Lebanon's first electric bus service, under the "Lebanon Sustainable Low-Emission Transport Systems" project, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

MEDCO is proud to have contributed to making this milestone a reality.
In joint venture with Transauto, we were selected to supply the electric buses and deliver the dedicated EV charging infrastructure purpose-built to support this service, bringing both the vehicles and the power infrastructure needed to operate Lebanon's first electric public transit line.

This project marks a meaningful step in Lebanon's transition toward cleaner, more sustainable public transportation, and MEDCO is honored to play a concrete role in that journey.
