Turning Commitment Into Action

We’re proud to receive a Certificate of Acknowledgment from the Ministry of Environment for voluntarily reporting greenhouse gas emissions across our MEDCO service stations in Lebanon. By disclosing our 2024 carbon footprint, we transformed sustainability from a concept into a concrete operation — measurable, accountable, real.

Lebanon may account for only 0.04% of global emissions, but responsibility doesn’t come in percentages. It’s collective. And it matters. Today’s recognition proves that voluntary disclosure isn’t just transparency — it’s a global trust badge that signals credibility and leadership.

This initiative also highlights the evolving role of the Ministry of Environment: not only managing waste, but shaping climate strategies, building national frameworks and enabling data-driven action aligned with international standards.

For MEDCO, this journey was never about ticking boxes. It was about understanding our footprint, uncovering real opportunities for reduction and driving meaningful change. Because progress starts when data sparks awareness — and awareness drives action.

We extend our thanks to the Ministry of Environment, led by H.E. Dr. Tamara ELZEIN and to the UNDP team — in particular Ms. Blerta Aliko, UNDP Lebanon Resident Representative and Ms. Lea Kai, Project Manager and Climate Change Advisor — for championing this initiative, which was carried out in-house by Eng. Joanna Issa, Sustainability Officer at MEDCO.

We look forward to amplifying our impact year after year.
